Centennial Hall SUNY Enviornmental Science and Forestry Campus

SUNY College of Environmental Science & Forestry

THE PROJECT

The team of Holmes▪King▪Kallquist & Associates and WTW Architects were engaged to design the first student housing to be constructed on the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry campus. This housing replaces freshman dormitory beds currently leased from Syracuse University and provides an on-campus option for the upper division transfer and graduate students. As the college had no experience with student housing, much effort was expended developing unit concepts and testing them via focus groups and market studies. The project includes 454 beds; 116 beds in two-bedroom/one-bath suites, 280 beds in double occupancy dormitory rooms with private baths, and 58 beds in four-bedroom/two-bath apartments. In addition, the project includes seminar and study areas, student activity spaces, and management offices. The project has achieved LEED® Gold certification under LEED for New Construction. Completed: 2011. Construction Cost: $19,600,000.
