THE PROJECT
Christopher Community, a non-profit development and management company, engaged Holmes▪King▪Kallquist & Associates, Architects to design a 32,295-square-foot apartment building to house low-income seniors. The project was constructed with HUD Section 202 funding, and meets HUD standards equivalent to LEED® certification. The three-story, wood-frame construction building has 36 one-bedroom units, 1 two-bedroom live-in manager’s unit, Laundry Room and Community Room. All units are ADA compliant. Energy efficient mechanical systems were utilized along with storm water run-off control. Special consideration was given to siting to reduce the impact on existing trees and landscaping.
