THE PROJECT
Holmes▪King▪Kallquist & Associates was engaged to provide architectural and interior design services for the total interior renovation of the historic Onondaga Savings Bank Building, Floors 3, 8, 9, and 10. The project was designed to accommodate updated banking offices for OnBank & Trust Co. In addition, exterior lighting was added to give prominence to the building’s crown in the cityspace. New executive offices on the ninth floor were completed in 1995. Work included all new interior partitions and finishes, new lighting, improved ventilation, new toilet rooms, a custom reception desk, and a custom-fabricated grand spiral staircase down to the eighth floor, crowned by a stained-glass dome. Simple, yet elegant millwork evokes the original building’s design while presenting an up-to-date image for an emerging regional bank.
